Therapy for Children

When Your Child’s Emotions Affect the Whole Family

Does your child seem unusually withdrawn, anxious, or reactive?

Are you noticing changes in sleep, behavior, or how they connect with others?

When your child is struggling, the whole family feels it. Whether it’s emotional outbursts, anxiety at school, or withdrawing from activities they once loved, these shifts can be confusing—and heartbreaking. You’re not alone in wanting support that’s warm, effective, and rooted in real understanding.

How can therapy help your child

Therapy helps children put words to their feelings, manage anxiety, build confidence, and improve behavior.

Through play, creative expression, and age-appropriate techniques, therapy also strengthens the parent–child bond—so healing happens not just in session, but at home, too.

What to expect in child therapy

Children don’t heal alone. At 3Elements, we view child therapy as a collaborative process between child, therapist, and family. Sessions include both the child and their caregivers. We explore emotional patterns through play-based, somatic, and experiential methods, building trust and safety first, while offering parents tools and guidance to support progress at home.

Depending on the child’s age and needs, sessions may involve:

  • Play-based or creative activities to help express feelings

  • Guided support for parents to understand and respond effectively

  • Tools to help with regulation, boundaries, and connection

Each session last 60 minutes is tailored to your child’s developmental stage and emotional world.
